The Role:
Frequent Communication with Director of Interior Design and Upper Management
- Meet weekly with Director
- Meet quarterly with Management to review Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Key Responsibilities:
- Create compelling interiors of the highest quality from concept to installation:
- Programming
- Conceptual/Schematic Design
- Design Development
- Management of Budgets & Schedules
- Execute on your design
- Select and manage all FF&E:
- Architectural Materials
- Furnishings
- Fabrics
- Lighting
- Art & Accessories
- Produce Interior Architectural drawings: plans, elevations, sections, details
- Plumbing & Lighting layouts
- Custom Millwork: kitchen, closets, bathrooms, etc…
- Tile designs
- Production of detailed ordering documents
- Produce clear and detailed finish schedules
- Produce presentations to convey your design clearly to clients using this software:
- Powerpoint
- AutoCAD
- Excel
- Lead and manage a small team of Associate interior designers
- Structured Mentoring
- Clear delegation of tasks on each project
- Review work for quality assurance
- Constructive criticism
- Verbal/written performance plan as needed (with HR)
- Collaborate with architects, lighting designers, audio/video contractors, developers, builders, General contractors, sub contractors, vendors, and fabricators
- Collaborate with Purchasing agent to ensure timely and accurate order of project items
- Submit spec sheet/work order for each item
- Meet weekly to review all project expediting
- Address any issues in a timely fashion
- Track any project ordering variances
- Submit change orders to clients as needed
- Create budget vs. actual document to submit to Creative Director for review
- Schedule installations
- Submit damage claims to PA for processing or return
- Attend all project installations to ensure your designs are executed perfectly and to the client’s satisfaction
- Meet with client to “Reveal” their new interior and answer questions
- Follow up with client on any issues or additions after each project installation
To Be Successful You Are:
- Degreed and/or experienced
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in interior design or architecture from an accredited program
- A minimum of 5 years of interior design experience preferred
- LEED certified a plus
- Active Member of ASID/IIDA/AIA
- Complete .3 CEUs annually
- A Hand Drafting/Sketching expert
- An AutoCAD expert
- Tech Minded
- Revit, Sketchup, and 3D rendering a plus
- StudioWebware: Intermediate
- Microsoft Office:
- Word: Expert
- Excel: Advanced
- PowerPoint: Advanced
- Outlook: Proficient, will train
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Able to interact with High Net Worth clients
- Able to manage concurrent projects (up to 8 at one time)
- Able to maintain a balanced workflow and meet deadlines
