My Top 8 Favorite Accent Chairs
Selecting a few of my favorite accent chairs to share with wasn’t an easy task, but I did it! Without further ado, here’s my roundup of the top eight accent chairs I had to share with you. From comfy and cool to over the top luxurious, these accent chairs can bring eye-catching drama or a relaxed vibe to your interiors.
1. Tom Dixon’s Fan Chair Natural
This is one of my absolute favorites. In fact, it’s sitting in the Laura U office as we speak! This lounge chair is the perfect representation of a Classically Current design. This fan chair draws influence from a classic British chair, the Windsor Chair. The new design is re-purposed in a way that is ultra modern and sleek. This overscale chair is fabulous!
2. Ligne Roset’s Slice Chair
The Slice chair is a different kind of chair. Designed to evoke the image of a club chair and footstool, it challenges the traditional idea of seating in your home. The bold color palette and gentle curves add texture, color, and contrast. The accent chair would look stunning in a monochromatic, industrial style space with concrete accents. It’s the perfect chair for making a bold statement in a minimalist environment.
3. Anthropologie’s Knotted Melati Hanging Chair
Oh, the hanging chair. It’s fun, whimsical, and a definite show stopper. Mix it with the trendy Boho style and you have yourself a match made in design heaven! This accent chair from Anthropologie is everything. It is affordable and encompasses all that we love about the Boho aesthetic. This is a a chair that could be at home in your kiddo’s playroom or on your porch.
4. Hickory Chair’s Wawasett Accent Chair
Inspired by the elegant garden seating at Windsor castle, the Wawasett accent chair is a beautiful interpretation of a classic design. I’m loving the black finish. It gives the chair a fresh, modern feel. The combination of a clean, simple silhouette and curving legs results in one regal looking chair. It’s a timeless accent chair that would look stunning tucked into the corner of an entry hallway.
5. Kelly Wearstler’s Souffle Chair – Ruched
Curved furniture is trending. Incorporating organic, round shapes is a beautiful way to break up straight lines. They add a feminine touch and give the piece a more welcoming feel. When I saw this souffle accent chair, it was love at first sight! The curvilinear form and detailing is the perfect blend of masculine and feminine styles. Ya’ll, this chair is a modern icon. A pair of these souffle chairs were perfect for our client’s sitting room. The ruched upholstery adds beautiful visual texture without taking attention away from the artwork. The curved back softens the lines of the bold, geometric rug and ties in the round cocktail table. The result is a modern, sophisticated space.
6. Century Furniture’s Banks Chair
The Barcelona chair, created by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, is one of the most iconic chairs. Designed to be a luxury accent chair, the comfortable style is popular for home offices and living rooms. The Banks Chair is an edgy update to the classic mid-century chair. I love the touch of a touch of glam and softness the warm bronze frame adds to this masculine chair. Warm bronze finishes are trending in furniture and lighting. They give the piece a sophisticated, timeless feel. The traditional combination of leather and metal used on this accent chair is timeless.
7. Baker Furniture’s Almandine Lounge Chair
This funky luxury accent chair from Jean Louis Deniot for Baker is what I think of when vintage luxe meshes with comfort. I’m loving the structural arm rests and juxtaposition of the bronze front legs against the wooden back legs. It’s a cool spin on the classic lounge chair! I see myself relaxing in this accent chair with a glass of wine, chatting with friends after a dinner party.
8. Theodore Alexander’s Willoughby Chair
My list of accent chairs wouldn’t be complete without including a swivel chair. It’s a fun way to make a statement in a living room or lounge. This accent chair from Michael Berman for Theodore Alexander is West Coast cool. The wooden yoke handle at the back paired with the rounded oak base provides a beautiful textural contrast to the cream upholstery. It’s contemporary and retro at the same time. Whew, that wraps up my top eight favorite accent chairs. I wish I had room for all of them in my own home! Let me know in the comments below which one is your favorite chair.
