12 Interior Design Blogs to Love

There are so many places, people and things that inspire me. Thanks to Instagram and interior design blogs, finding inspiration has never been easier. And even though I’m always finding something new, there are a few interior designers I keep coming back to. It doesn’t matter whether I’m looking at their Instagram or reading a blog post, I always find tons of inspiration. These interior designers have such unique design perspectives and an amazing eye for design.

As we head into 2019, I wanted to put together a list of my favorite interior design blogs. Whether looking for trend information, new products or design inspiration, these are the 12 best interior design blogs to follow.

1. Design Milk

From re-imagined workspaces to all things outdoor and everything in between, Design Milk focuses on bringing readers the latest in modern design news. As someone constantly searching for inspiration, I love reading how other designers interpret spaces and learning how technology is changing the world of design. One of my favorite posts is about this gorgeous island hotel with a bold and dramatic design. I love how they paired classic black and white with the traditional, vibrant colors found on the island. It’s a stunning example of how interior design can be used to reflect the beauty of nature. You can see more of their favorite places, pieces and spaces, over on Instagram.

2. India Hicks

India Hicks is a carefully curated collection of home accessories, beauty products, jewelry and handbags. As the daughter of a famous interior designer and British Royalty, India’s background can be seen in each of her pieces. Her collections blend the classic elegance of her British heritage with the relaxed beauty of island life. India is so intentional with everything she creates and there’s a story behind each piece. If there’s anyone’s lifestyle I envy, it’s India’s. From London to Harbour Island, she’s constantly on the go. Just spend a few minutes scrolling through her Instagram and you’re instantly transported all over the world. All the traveling has made her a travel pro. I love this list she put together of her best travel tips. I’ll definitely be trying a few of them the next time I’m traveling.

3. Seasons in Colour

Color is one of the key elements to creating Classically Current designs, so I when I discovered Seasons in Colour I immediately fell in love. Jenny originally started the blog to provide design aficionados with color-based design inspiration. But it’s quickly become one of the best interior design blogs. It’s no wonder I love scrolling through their beautiful IG feed! One post that got my design wheels turning was about using color on ceilings. Because unfortunately, ceilings tend to be forgotten. I loved getting new ideas about how to do something unexpected with them. Jenny also shares some great tips about buying at auction. So before you head to your next auction, you’ll want to read this post.

Simply Grove interior design blog features eye-catching interiors showcasing furnishings from all over the world. Kirsten’s design style focuses on neutral, muted color palettes to create warm and inviting interiors. But what I love is how she uses whimsical accessories and architectural pieces to give the space personality. One of the best parts about reading other interior design blogs is learning about new products. I found out about these colorful geometric wallpapers in one of Kirsten’s recent posts. I love how they reimagined a classic design in a modern color palette. Follow Simply Grove on Instagram to see more of her beautifully designed spaces.

EyeSwoon focuses on transforming everyday life into an extraordinary visual experience. Through food, entertaining, fashion and lifestyle, Athena shows how statement-making simple ideas can be when thoughtfully executed. Whether she’s designing spaces or creating recipes, her creations are sophisticated, unusual and definitely eye-catching. What drew me to Athena’s blog is how she focuses on the process and story behind everything. Designing from afar is a different experience. So reading about how she designed an event in France from 100,000 miles away was so inspiring. I love how she trusted her own process and the expertise of her team to bring her vision to life.

There’s nothing quite like the laid back, white-walled California design aesthetic. And no one does it better than Amber Interiors. Characterized by earthy textures, mixed metals and light-filled rooms, her designs will have you instantly wanting to move to California. One of my favorite posts featured this client project reveal. I love how she incorporated wallpaper into her design. In the living room, she used a neutral wallpaper to add warmth, texture and make the space feel cozier. And in the kids’ room and playroom she used bright, bold wallpapers to add color and a whimsical touch. It was a stunning example of how versatile wallpaper can be.

The Spruce offers practical tips and inspiration to help you spruce up and create your best home. It puts information about interior design trends, color palette ideas and easy ways to update you decor all in one place. Their Instagram is full of the prettiest details and spaces. I love this recent post about ways to mix patterns into your interiors. For me, including patterns in a design is a must. It’s an easy way to add visual interest and personality to a space. My approach to layering patterns starts with color, scale and type. But I loved their idea of pairing dramatic patterns with organic prints.
